The Monticello Parks & Recreation Committee was created under the authority of Arkansas Code Annotated § 19-3601 et seq and Monticello City Code § 16-1 et seq (Ordinance 771 3/15/12). Each of the Committee's eleven (11) members serve five (5) year terms. Members are appointed by the mayor with approval from the Monticello City Council.
The duties of the Committee are to advise the City Council in the operations of the city parks system and its recreational programs.
The Parks Committee meets the first Monday of the month at 6:00pm at the Sadie T. Johnson Community Building in Jordan Park.
